Despite strong warnings from global health authorities that the pandemic is far from over, countries such as the UK, France, Spain, Sweden, Norway and some other European areas are starting to treat COVID-19 as an endemic illness like the flu. Many more governments around the world say they are now ready “to learn to live with the virus”.
This will be a logical and natural evolution of a pandemic into an endemic. However, this paradigm shift should not change our individual attitudes towards preventing the contagion of this and other potentially pandemic viruses.
